A Farmhouse Kitchen...

The Mr. remodeled an old farmhouse kitchen
of a good customer of The Whistle Stop's.
It was a group effort... the homeowners did some of the
work & the Mr. installed some custom built in cupboards,
re-fabed the old kitchen cupboards and painted them.
He also made some in style shelving & made a new cupboard
w/ old drawers that came out to make room for a dishwasher!
He also made a surprise piece w/ the customers old shutters...
a mini pie safe!

Today we decorated!

The old back porch area was opened up into the kitchen. Making
room for these custom built in cabinets w/ the Mr.'s signature style!
A serving buffet & pantry for lots of storage!

(pine cabinets, maple counter top, reclaimed wood for shelving)

The pantry door is an old storm door... making it perfect for displaying
the yellow & green collection of kitchen ware. The small cupboard
on the right was made from old shutters (on the sides) & an old window.
The daisy photograph was taken by the homeowners daughter.
Layering it with an old garden trellis made it the perfect pair.

The Mr. built a cubby and we added an
old coat rack below! Makes for great storage
of coats, hats, gloves when you come in out of the cold!

The drawers & old bread board had been removed
from the other side of the kitchen to make room
for a dishwasher! They were repurposed into a
new cupboard to add counter space near the stove.

New butcher block counters, re-fabed original
kitchen cabinets with a crisp white & gray paint
updated the kitchen but, left it's old farmhouse charm!

A view of the old kitchen & the newly added!
Can you say LOVE! ?

We added in some little details that
make it ever so charming.

Farmhouse kitchen... oh, how I love you!
